Thousand Kids Ready to Face the Winter

Usually, kids in our region, pull-off the entire academic year with only 2 sets of uniforms (and may be last year’s uniform). They may get new clothes during festive season once or twice (if their parents have come back from work with some extra money). This leaves almost no space for having season specific clothing such as “warm clothes for the cold winter”.
Even the region being just 100km away from Mumbai, winter season – especially evenings, nights and early mornings – can be harsh. And school here have morning sessions for 5 days in a week. Some good Samaritans in our donors helped order 1000 good-quality sweaters or pullovers from Ludhiana manufacturer for these kids. 650 kids from our 11 schools and around 350 girls from Arvind Ashram Shala (one of our supported residential schools) were given with these good quality sweaters.
We thank our donors for their generous support. This not only made our kids dare the winter morning in the region, it also made look kids smarter with uniform color and style of sweaters ! 🙂
