As part of our ongoing health programme, Suhrid Foundation conducts medical camps twice a year in supported Zilla Parishad schools in Vikramgad. During the current academic year, health check-up is reaching around 800 students.
The monsoon season often brings a rise in common illnesses among children, including cold, cough and skin infections, particularly among those who walk through the rain to school and also play in the paddy fields while their parents are working there. Our camps are also an opportunity to speak with parents and teachers and share simple, practical guidance on children’s diet, medicines and everyday health.
We have also completed the health check-up at Kasturba Balika Vidyalaya, Waki. As this is a residential school with older girls, the health concerns are somewhat different and include menstrual health as well as some conditions requiring more careful attention and follow-up.
We are grateful to all the teachers and parents who take the time to participate and support these initiatives. Their involvement makes these health camps much more meaningful and helps us ensure that the children receive the care and attention they need. A heartfelt vote of thanks on behalf of beneficiaries as well to the team of Vastu Housing Finance for continuing to support the health initiatives this year through sponsorship of medicines.
