An intervention at the right time can alter the course of a lifetime. The journey of Kajal, Mamata & Roshana stands as a shining testament to how timely support and sheer determination can transform dreams into reality.
The Early Days: Roots in Dadade Ashram School
In tribal district of Palghar, about 15 kilometers away from Vikramgad, lies Dadade. This is where Kajal, Mamata & Roshana were pursuing their school education at Arvind Ashram School. Suhrid Foundation had been actively working for over 10 years with this residential school, driving impactful initiatives in core areas of healthcare and education.
The real turning point came, when the trio was studying in the 10th standard and came in close connect with Suhrid Foundation team. Recognizing their potential and eagerness to learn, the foundation mentored them through their 10th and 12th standards.
While all three girls dreamt of becoming teachers, pursuing higher education was a distant reality due to lack of available guidance and also financial constraints. Suhrid Foundation backed them completely with continuous mentoring and financial, logistical support, the girls moved to Vasai to pursue their D.Ed. (Diploma in Education). Over the next two years, they focused entirely on their studies and successfully completed their teacher training program in June 2026.
The Present: Empowered and Employed
Today, Kajal, Mamata and Roshana are no longer just dreamers—they are achievers. They are currently employed as teachers in a private educational institution right in Vikramgad, earning a livelihood with dignity and shaping the next generation of children in their own community.
Their ambition doesn’t stop here. While balancing their daily teaching responsibilities, these young women are currently preparing for the TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) to secure government teaching positions and scale greater heights in their professional careers.
The journey of these girls highlights the essence of what Suhrid Foundation strives for empowering rural youth through education and enabling self-reliance. The entire Suhrid family takes immense pride in their success and wishes them the very best for their future endeavors.
