Susmita Tembe – popularly addressed as Masi or मावशी
26th Aug 1961 – 12th May 2021.

You were born on the day when mother Teresa was born and you left us on the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale. Do we need to say more to prove that you were born to serve?

As true health warrior, all your life, you served others. Immediately after your retirement as Nursing Superintendent at Ahmedabad civil hospital, you came to Vikramgad to serve tribals. You took away pain from people of Kaspada and started working on setting up similar healthcare center at Khandeghar. You served till your last day – more than 300 patients were cured in last 4 days in Vikramgad.

You were huge reservoir of love, source of energy, motivator and enthusiasm booster for us. Ever smiling, ever energetic, extreme compassion, never-say-die attitude would be missed. Though we consider ourselves as your family, a “family” to you was entire world. वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम was truly personified in you.

We all – from family, Swaminarayan school friends, SSG Hospital Baroda friends, Shahpur/Maninagar neighborhood, Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Nadiad Civil hospital staff, M & J Opthalmology, Suhrid Foundation, Vikramgad, Kaspada cluster… would miss you… forever.

Remain our inspiration and be our strength, Masi. Just saying – ‘You would be missed’ – would be a gross understatement.

– With deep gratitude
Team Suhrid
