We have been working towards the betterment of the school infrastructure on regular basis. We had already enabled sanitation system – i.e. electric motor driven facility to fetch water, overhead tank, wash basin – which allowed flowing water for various purpose. Suhrid foundation sponsored two initiatives at Khandeghar this year – school office and toilet block for boys and girls.

Jolly Phonics Training – Feb 2020

There are around 18 to 20 teachers, who are associated with Suhrid Foundation. The teachers have been able to introduce Marathi kids. As a part of their curriculum, the kids are expected to study English words in 4th or 5th standard. To facilitate the easier learning of English, we provided the services of a professional tutor – Ms Krishna Sheth. This was more of a train the trainer course of Jolly phonics, wherein the kids can learn to recognize the letters using the sound, associated reading with it.  We conduct the sessions every year and found tremendous benefits.

Tribal Community Healthcare Center – A new Initiative

Suhrid foundation started its operation in 2012 with health care of tribal people as the primary objective. During the last seven to eight years of our association, we did lot of community related work viz reconstructing dams, de-silting river, the wells, infrastructure development for the school, tree plantations, and guiding tribals to work towards improving their livelihood.  Kaspada was in the forefront where these activities were carried out because of a better connect with the people. We decided to build community healthcare center in this village. We got lot of support and encouragement from the villagers in the entire process of setting up this center.
