Santosh Ladkya Ibhad, 38, being differently-abled (partially) is unable to earn his livelihood because he cannot do heavy labor work in family farm or with employment guarantee scheme of government. While he is married and supported by his wife and rest of the family, he was feeling the pinch of not being able to earn his own livelihood.
Suhrid Foundation discussed with him an option of having a flour mill and little grocery shop which may help earn him a livelihood. There was no flour mill in nearby vicinity and Santosh felt that it would be appropriate idea. We approached our partners Rotary Club of Bombay Bayview for the support and they readily agreed to finance it. Santosh and family worked to get the bamboo shed prepared for the shop. Once done, Suhrid Foundation helped him get all required material for shop, weighing scale, flour mill, required electrical setup, etc.
This has helped Santosh get independent and also get sense of pride of earning his own livelihood.
