Suhrid Foundation conducts camp for health check-up of 650 children from all our supported 10 schools. In the month of April 2023, Suhrid Foundation conducted medical camps for all schools before end of academic year 2022-23. From this session onwards, we had decided to request parents of children to also join during the camp – at least for 1st and 2nd standard kids. This ensured following things:
Parents could articulate problems better (eg any repetitive illness)
Parents could understand dosage of medicines better – reducing burden from teachers and also bringing-in ownership of administering medicines to kids at home
Parents could also be guided on better nutrition and taking care of their ward’s health – for which otherwise Suhrid Foundation used to arrange for separate parents’ meeting.
Main observation from the camp was – need for rebuilding up of enthusiasm and coordination amongst teachers, re-focus on nutrition and health, rekindling of all projects and processes – which were impacted due to lock-down period for around 2 years. We decided to work on this as soon as academic process starts back in Jun 2023.
