Team Suhrid paid the last visit for this academic year on 25-Apr-2015. The objectives were:
- Visit to Jeevan Jyot Eye Hospital, Palghar
- Common meeting with the teachers at Vikramgad
Visit to Jeevan Jyot Hospital
Eye problems are quite common in the tribal aea, where we operate. While one can help in identifying the problems, the treatment is a big challenge. Except for an optometrist, they don’t have any eye care facility in the entire region. While, we are able to handle standard myopia with the help of optometrist, we still did not have options available for the advanced eye treatment.
Jeevan Jyot hospital is located at Palghar and offers the eye related medical services to under privileged tribal people, who can’t afford these services. This hospital is very well maintained and has equipments for handling most common eye related problems. Their team is fully familiar with the challenges faced by the local tribals and assured to help us at almost negligible cost.
The core services include:
- Conventional optometry
- Cataract Surgery
- Retinal checkup / surgery
- Glaucoma
- Squint
- Tear duct problems
We would be availing their services for the advanced treatment from the next academic year.
