Three out of those five children were brought back for follow-up checkup. There were additional 2 children – one with ENT complains (hearing) and one with related to Eye (congenital cataract) formed part of this visit. They were accompanied by one parent each and two teachers. Similar to earlier visit, arrangement of breakfast and lunch for all the people were done by Suhrid Foundation.

- Jagruti Kanoja from Janathepada – Follow-up visit – After 10 days of wax clean-up medicine, her checkup was done. She had relatively better hearing than earlier and is not alarmingly harmful. Her muteness is linked with her apprehension skills. Her father was directed to make her communicate better in the form of therapy as explained by Dr Rashmi.
- Amit Dhodad from Guravpada – Amit was new entrant to school and was having hearing problem. He had impacted hearing (not a complete loss) which needs to be further tested with audiometry in subsequent visit.
- Umesh Ojhare from Bahirampada – He was taken to Dr Ruvit Nikam, Eye specialist. He was diagnosed congenital cataract – which as per doctor is quite common in the region primarily due to Nutrition deprivation during the pregnancy. Umesh has very high myopia as well. He is advised cataract surgery. Depending upon comfort of his parents, surgery can be planned in next one month.
We thank all the doctors for their whole-hearted support – giving their time from busy schedule and supporting Suhrid Foundation cause.
These visits were successful not only from medical purpose, but also setting up the trends amongst the locals in the region. The parents have responded in very positive manner and have spread positive word about Suhrid foundation. These successful cases would be used as examples to encourage others to come forward for the advance treatment.
These findings have also given us more insight into the problems, which they face, which would help our team of doctors to work upon and recommend plan of action to tackle it.
