Medical Camp & Blood Test – Phase 2

We had our last leg of camp on 8th April 2017. We had to cover 4 schools (335 kids) for the same. Like the previous camp, we had to take the blood samples of the new kids this time. We covered Khandeghar, Guravpada, Palavpada and Palavpada Anantpur.

We could see lot of improvement in terms of hygiene and de-worming aspects this time. However, many kids appeared neglected at their home front. Suhrid foundation takes care of the vegetables, eggs and jaggery during the school lunch. However, when it comes to breakfast, dinner and the entire meal during holidays are taken care by their parents. In a few villages, we think that there is lot of scope of improvement at the parents’ level.  It is important to have a representative – stationed in these villages – to monitor and guide the parents on regular basis.

The main observations were:

  • Constant cough and cold
  • Stomach ailments
  • Joint pain (Weakness)
  • Skin problems
  • Thyroid problems to 2 or 3

We distributed free medicines with the instructions. Out of total checked, 8 to 10 kids have been earmarked for further observation and if required for further advanced checkup.
