Palavpada, one of our supported schools, had their toilet block in dilapidated condition. This was note and planned to be rebuilt in early 2020 itself. However, subsequent to Covid-19 related lockdown period, this got delayed and finally was decided to be taken up in early this year.

This block has two sections – for boys and girls – including one toilet and two urinals each. We already had water tank installed few years ago and the same was used to make running water supply available. Toilet was built with a soak pit for waste disposal. Toilet block project mentioned above was sponsored by Inner Wheel club of Bombay Bayview. We thank them for their support.

Additionally, Suhrid Foundation also has provided with compound and gate to this school. This compound would ensure that the ground is now better maintained and tree plantation etc can be done properly. Earlier tree plantation was not so easy to maintain because of cattle moving around could damage trees and shrubs around. This compound is made with strong retaining wall on one side (where water flow is high), cement poles and chain link for the entire ground periphery of 140 meters. With encompassing compound, the toilet block would also remain safe – even during vacation period.

Overall these two things would give a cleaner look and better hygiene for this school. Teachers and kids have promised to keep these facilities clean.
