Career Guidance for 10th Standard Girls

Last year, in April 2022, we started working with Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalay of Vikramgad at Waki. While we started this relationship by providing them with installation of hand-pump to the bore-well which was dug, but due to shortage of funds, could not complete the work. While working with teachers and staff of the Ashramshala, we connected with younger girls who are on the juncture of their career selection i.e. girls of 10th, 11th and 12th standard. We conducted various programs with them in guiding them, motivating them.

On 4th Feb 2023, we made a visit to these girls along with our special guests Mr Nilesh Zalavadia from Canada representing KPSNA. Team established dialogue with girls about importance of education and guided them about career going ahead. Team also touched upon one very important aspect about early marriage in the society and guided girls to finish education before getting into marriage. It was also decided that their parents would also be invited for meeting and team along with teachers guide them about importance of education and why they should help their daughters to finish their graduation first and then take up responsibility of marriage. This meeting was agreed to be planned very next week i.e. 12-Feb-2023.

The meeting also was attended by one of the special girl, a KGBV alumni, who is giving exams for state civil services (MPSC). Her name is Kavita Desale and she guided and motivated girls.

Team also visited Kaspada school and also Suhrid Foundation clinic at Alivpada and Khandeghar.
