All the schools were closed till 25th Nov on account of Diwali. Generally, kids and teachers start their preparation for the annual sports meet after the Diwali vacation. They have to prepare for Langadi, Relay Race, musical chair etc. We visited Toplepada on 1st Dec 2018.
Toplepada residents are not typical tribals. Literacy percentage is much higher than the other villages. Incidentally, our visit coincided with the proposed awareness session on the eradication of gover-rubela, wherein the local doctors and government representatives updated the village ladies about the importance of the same. We also visited Anganwadi of Toplepada, which is quite efficiently managed. Overall progress was quite good except for the worms infestation, which is a bit common phenomenon after the festival season or vacation period.
Team Suhrid donated 20 new mats to Kaspada school, which has 105 students. At the end, we revisited Dadade Ashram Shala to discuss the future medical camp for the girls. As per the feedback received form the warden, the skin related problems almost vanished after the last camp. Our doctor insisted on improving the hygiene rather than taking the route of medicines. We had provided them 3000 liters overhead tank, which allowed at least 150 odd girls to take shower in the closed bathroom rather than going to river or fields.
